The relatively small island of Mallorca has beaches that dreams are made of; expanses of pure white sand, crystal clear azure sea, intimate coves below dramatic cliffs, wild natural beaches which are accessible only on foot and huge swaths of soft golden sand backed by palm trees.

Mallorca has over 120 beaches and coves dotted along its coastline – each with its own personality and unique location – and with the help of our guide you really can find your very own slice of paradise.

It would be easy for us to trot out a list of the resort beaches...but they’re easy to find and, although pretty, don’t give much of a blip on the ‘Fab-O-Meter. So we decided to do the hard work for you and listed below you’ll find some of the most spectacular beaches on the island; sparkling white sand, pretty inlets, turquoise sea, natural landscape and, best of all, most are relatively unknown. Untouched by tourism, but easy enough to find, some of these beaches prove that on Mallorca you can still experience the dream of finding that secluded beach.

Beaches in the South:

Some of the most picturesque beaches are to be found in the South due to their fine white sand and turquoise sea. Easily accessible from some of the main tourist resorts they do tend to get busy in the main summer months but their beauty shines through none-the-less.

Beaches of the West:

The West of Majorca is the home of the Tramuntana mountain range and the villages of this area cling to rocky outcrops. This means the few beaches along this coast are hard to get to, small and pebbly. However we think the effort is worth it as it’s on this coastline that you’ll find the most spectacularly located beach on Majorca.

Beaches of the North and North East:

Long sweeps of golden sand that stretch from Puerto Pollensa through to C’an Picafort and beyond and have a backdrop of mountains are what you’ll find in the North. Towards the East the coastline starts to break up into a more rugged landscape which hides small sandy coves many accessible only by foot or boat.

Beaches of the East:

This area is dominated by the 1.5km beach of Cala Millor, which makes our list, but is also full of small coves and inlets which you can explore, particularly around Cala d’Or where there are numerous pretty calas (coves) that are well known and easy get to.
