Son Gual Golf
Son Gual opened in October 2007 ending decade long plans for this particular design of golf course. It is situated near the village of Sant Jordi in 'The Valley of a Thousand Windmills". It is actually former German amateur champion Thomas Himmel who is the inspiration behind the design, on a course with splendid bunker placement some 1000 olive trees in total.
The course is set out in two loops of nine, occupying the 175 acres of land in a natural way, despite the amount of work that was undertaken in the creation. This is mainly due to the large artifical lakes (which also act as irrigators), the spread of flowers and wild flora throughout and extensive vineyards.

The course is striking on the eye, but initial fears are put to rest when play gets under way on a challenging, tough and sometimes gruelling course, but one that ultimately is likely to bring out the best in you. Add to this, the 15 minute interval times between players and you can ensure there will be no time waiting around.

A spectacular course no doubt, but you also pay slightly more for the privilege of taking a round here. On that basis, and if on a budget, why not pay a visit during twilight hours or in the summer months when green fees are reduced.
