Vall D'or Golf
Another course on the East coast of Mallorca, but isolated much more southerly away from the cluster of 4 courses just north of Cala Millor. Despite this, it can be reached from resorts in that area in under 30 minutes and the course occupies a splendid area not far from the sea.
Originally a 9 hole course, opened in 1985, it became a full 18 hole course in 1993 after a redesign by American golf architect Bradford Benz, another in the long line of renowned designers to have influenced courses in Mallorca.
What the course lacks in raw distance, it makes up for in presentation and diversity, having a mixture of flat and hilly parts and a crucial wind that comes in off the sea. Particularly spectacular is the par 5 3rd hole, which plays downhill through a valley looking over the bay of Porto Colom
The elegant Vall d'Or Clubhouse is fully equipped to modern standards with a reputed gourmet restaurant. There are also breathtaking views of the whole of Calas de Mallorca, the south-east coast of the island, adding extra charm to this rural course.
Green Fees: €98 for 18 holes
