Sightseeing in Mallorca

An island it may be, but there are so many opportunities to see other attractions apart from the fabulous sandy coves, beaches and clear blue sea – charming villages, majestic mountain ranges and many historical and natural sites.

So to help you along we’ve selected a few of the ‘not to missed’ day trips. Now even if you’re only visiting Majorca once any one of these suggestions will give you some fabulous photos and warm memories to take away with you.

Depending on where you’re holidaying you may need to hire a car for ease of travel but we have included plenty of places to see in and around Palma which is easily accessible from most of the island's resorts.

Caves del Drach - You can’t sightsee in Majorca without including the Caves of Drach on your list. Spread over 2000 metres is a natural wonder full of spectacular formations, stalactites, stalagmites and one of the largest underground lakes in the world.

Deia - Visiting Deia is like visiting a film set such is the perfection of its location and architecture. This pretty village is truly picture postcard perfect. Stone built houses with terracotta roofs hug the dramatic Tramuntana mountain range.

Marineland - Located on the coast close to the resorts of Palma Nova and Magalluf, Marineland is a very popular attraction for families and lovers of marine life (especially dolphins and sharks!)

Scenic Train Trip to Sóller - Take yourself off to the train station in Palma and enjoy a day trip on the narrow gauge railway. It’s great fun for the family, any train enthusiast, or if you want to just sit back and enjoy a wonderful scenic tour.

Valldemosa - Set in the Tramuntana mountain range, Valldemosa is the highest village in Majorca. It is a stunningly beautiful village, full of cobbled streets, stone houses and breathtaking views around every corner.
