Classic Mallorca
Mallorca has the venues, the weather, the history and the musicians which make it a sublime place to experience classical music throughout the year. Whether outdoors against the spectacular backdrop of precipitous cliffs, in the courtyard of an ancient castle, in the cloister of a medieval religious order or in one of the many modern auditoriums or theatres the music is complimented by the surroundings.
Vivaldi would be happy that there's music – classical, chamber, baroque and opera – throughout the four seasons of the year, making the island an ideal place to visit in the high or low season. After all, Chopin did make Mallorca his base for the winter and has a festival in his honour in Valldemossa every year.
For ease of planning we've created 3 musical sections, Palma itself, the area to the west of the motorway from Palma to Alcudia, and the area to its east.
