Classical Music Festivals and Annual Concerts in Palma
2nd January - New Year's Concert, Palma Auditorium; classics and waltzes played by a symphony orchestra to rival the Vienna concert.
January to April - Winter Classical Music Festival in the Palma Auditorium, the Xesc Forteza Theatre and the Lloseta Theatre; chamber music in bite sized small concerts featuring scaled down operatic and musical works.
May to November - Opera at the Teatre Principal in Palma; the season includes at least three big productions and live screenings of operas from around the world.
Thursdays in July - Bellver Music Festival in the Bellver Castle; classical music from the Ciutat de Palma symphony orchestra in the courtyard of the castle with views of the twinkling lights of Palma.
Thursdays in August - International 'Summer Serenades' Music Festival in the Bellver Castle; taking place in the main courtyard of historic Bellver Castle, these chamber music concerts aim to introduce young talent from the music scene.
September to May - The Symphony Orchestra Subscription Season in the Palma Auditorium; classics from the Ciutat de Palma symphony orchestra.
1st Saturday in October - Historic Organs Week in Churches around Palma; organ and choral music festival with the aim of showcasing the wonderful sonority of these ancient instruments in local churches.
Sundays in October - International Organ Festival in the Palma Cathedral; originally held to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the death of Bach, this annual festival has seen some of the best organists from Europe's mighty cathedrals.
October and November - MallorcaMusic in the Palma Theatre and the Caixa Forum; operatic and classical works from this German based organisation with its own orchestra.
November - Speculum Musicale, Palma theatre and Auditorium; the Baroque Orchestra of Mallorca use early instruments to play Baroque, Romance and Classical music.
