Nine young graffiti artists in Inca discovered the value of their work the hard way this week. They were fined €2700 for breaking article 48 of the town's bye laws after they were caught scribbling pornographic images on public property in the Plaza Mallorca.

It's an area that has been plagued by graffiti-ists and when a member of the alerted the constabulary four policemen were sent down to catch the youths 'red handed'

The police refused their offer to clean up the walls and instead chose to impose a fine which will probably take quite a few weeks' pocket money to pay off.
