Mallorca Christmas Weather Snow Joke
see the snow capped peaks from a warm sunny orange grove
If you're a grit wagon driver in Mallorca then there's no business like snow business at the moment. The first snows of the year were deposited on the peaks of the Tramuntana Mountains high above Soller this week.
A wave of freezing polar air from Siberia brought a covering of 15 centimetres of snow onto the ground above 1100 metres. Snow clearing machines had to be brought out onto the MA10 road beyond the Mirador de ses Barques – the viewing point which looks down onto Puerto Soller – as this road was completely blocked.
However, if you get our drift, there's an old Mallorca saying which goes something like, 'the snow in Mallorca don't taste like what it oughta and falls only on the mountains!'

There's nothing more spectacular than admiring the snow capped peaks of the Tramuntana from a warm sunny orange grove in the Soller Valley below!
