Here on Mallorca Spotlight we've covered many of the facets of the Mallorca music, arts and culture scene over the year. Jazz, ballet, shows, musicals and the classics have all featured in our reports.

Today it's the turn of the Indie/alternative scene. The organisers of the Mallorca Rocks event have just announced some of the bands who will be appearing in Magaluf over the summer.
Sunday June 6 – The Kooks and Zane Lowe
Monday July 5 – Calvin Harris and Example
Monday July 26 – Dizzee Rascal
Monday Sept 6 – Closing Party with Pendulum

Meanwhile, Mallorcan organisers of the Alternatilla 10 festival of art, photography, music and theatre with an alternative edge have been just as tardy in sorting out their line ups for the April/May Fest.

We can tell you that Lou Reed's concert is part of the festival, as is an exhibition of his photography and examples of his film making. Other artists appearing will be Franz Ferdinand who play Palma Arena on 1st May (€25) and Juan Perro 7th May, Damon and Naomi 8th May, The Posies 9th May, Jason and The Scorchers 21st May and on 24th April local bands will pay hommage to Vic Chestnutt, the American singer songwriter who died recently.
