Free Jazz in Palma de Mallorca

Hendrix, Schofield and Metheny

Don't worry, it's not an Ornette Coleman concert, it's free jazz as in gratis, no entry fee, zilch, nada! This Thursday, 19th August at 22.00, those nice people from Jazz Voyeur have organised a free gig at the Ses Voltes stage by the lake in front of Palma Cathedral featuring Trotsky Xperience and Marcos Collado.

The Trotsky boys are all local lads who have gigged with some of the island's best Jazz and Blues combos. Comprising of trumpet, Hammond organ and drums, they play a fusion of Jazz, Blues and Swing.

Marcos Collado studied classical violin at the Music conservatory of the Balearics before switching to Jazz guitar in the 90's. When you hear that Collado cites Hendrix, Schofield and Metheny amongst his influences you know that you're going to get a fusion of cool jazz and rock licks from this guitarist.
