Palma Free Wifi
6 Meg broadband coverage 
Holidaymakers in Palma will now be able to keep a check on their stocks and shares, international currency deals, hack into the NASA database or chat with their face mates thanks to the new free Wifi zones in Palma.
The Mayoress of Palma, Aina Calvo, inaugurated the new access to the information super highway yesterday and now completely harmless invisible Wifi beams are criss-crossing the Paseo de Born, Parc de Llevant, Flassaders and s'Escorxador.
Anybody who logs on will first see a welcome page in Spanish, English and Catalan giving basic information about Palma. They'll then have 30 minutes of free browsing courtesy of the council.
It's a 6 Meg broadband coverage which will ensure plenty of people can use it at reasonable fast speeds and the area covered ranges from 200 sq m in the Born to 2000 sq m in the Parc Llevant.
The systems been running for a little while before its official kick off yesterday and officials say that the most popular device used by internauts is the Iphone.
