Palma Jazz Nights: Lizarran
Son of British Jazz stalwarts Cleo Laine and John Dankworth,
The Lizarran Taberna tapas bar in the big Porto Pi shopping mall in Palma has been hosting regular Thursday night jazz sessions for a while now. This month sees some special guests from afar making an unmissable appearance here.
Tonight, the 9th and next Thursday, the 16th, acoustic bass player Alec Dankworth is the star performer. Son of
British Jazz stalwarts Cleo Laine and John Dankworth, Alec has a rich pedigree and has played with the likes of Stephan Grapelli,Abdulah Ibrahim and Van Morrison to name just a few.
On 23rd it's the turn of Tony Pagano, the tenor sax and flute player from Pennsylvania PA who now lives in Paris. Like Dankworth, Pagano has played with some of the best, and they don't come much better than Ella Fitzgerald and Gary Burton!
The Lizarran's Jazz nights run from 21.00 to 23.00 and you can reserve a table for dinner on 971 403 358.
