Marineland to the Rescue
19 of the dolphins rescued last year were listed animals
Mention the word Marineland and you probably think of dolphins and sea-lions performing tricks for the public. This is true but it’s only a part of the activities of the big park in Puerto Portals near Palma de Mallorca.
Last year its staff were involved in the rescue of 37 marine mammals, mostly dolphins, and 25 turtles which had been found beached on the coast.
The park is tasked to do this and is subsidised by the Environmental Council’s Species Protection Service. No less than 19 of the dolphins rescued last year were listed animals and 5 were bottlenose dolphins.
Keep up the good work Marineland!
