Mallorca Snow, TV and Shopping
shops in Palma opening on Sunday
Small stories from Mallorca.
Heavy snow fell in the Sierre Tramuntana region over the weekend and many roads were impassable; not because of the snow but the sheer weight of traffic carrying sightseers on the roads!
Today's the day when the old fashioned analogue TV signals are phased out in Mallorca. From now on we'll only be able to receive our favourite game shows via a digital receiver. English speaking viewers will be able to listen in to many programmes in their original language thanks to the ability to switch audio channels on a digital receiver.

Almost as revolutionary as the TV switch over was the shops in Palma opening on Sunday. They're finally cottoning on to the fact that people who work all week (and would-be-customers on weekend breaks in the city) can only go to the shops at weekend.
