Laudrup won five Liga titles

Mallorca could be a venue on the world's sporting stage if plans to bring the European Grand Prix to the island come to fruition. The Mayor of Llucmayor has made a bid to hold the F1 race there from 2013 and has recruited race track design specialists to work on the 3.6 mile track to be known as the 'Circuit of the Balearic Islands.'

The track would replace the current Valencia city circuit which is seen as having deficiencies in design as it is almost impossible for drivers to overtake on it. F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone is said to be weighing up the bid.

Real Mallorca Football Club have recruited a new trainer for next season. Former Danish international Michael Laudrup has signed a 2 year deal to replace Gregorio Manzano. No stranger to Spanish football, Laudrup won five Liga titles as a player with both Barcelona and Real Madrid.

If you fancy watching the reds, here are their home games for the coming season, though this list may change by a day either way if matches are televised.
