Jazz Voyeur Festival 2011
Jazz Made in Mallorca
The 8th annual Jazz Voyeur Festival takes place for a month in Palma this Autumn, starting on November 23rd. The great thing about this year's fiesta is that the first three concerts take place on consecutive days which make it a great excuse to visit Palma for a short break.
The concerts all take place in the city's Principal Theatre (click the link for ticket prices and details) and the programme is:-
23rd November – Tony Emmanuel and Antonio Rey
24th November – Lucky Peterson Band (see video)
25th November – Christopher Cross Band
20th December – Juan Perro
23rd December – The Late Night Gospel Choir
As well as the concerts, there'll be forums, debates, masterclasses and films in the original language with Spanish subtitles. These will be shown in the Sa Nostra Cultural centre (Carre Concepció, 12) at 17.00 h and are:-
17th November – Young Man with a Horn
23rd November – The Five Pennies
30th November – Straight No Chaser, Thelonious Monk
Finally, there's a week of Jazz performances scheduled around the Lonja area, where the Jazz Voyeur Club is located called 'Jazz Made in Mallorca,' though as yet details of who, when and where are not available. Mallorca Spotlight will publish these when we know...
