Mallorca's Tasty Mushrooms

flavourful fungi

There's a world of difference in the taste of the common of garden domesticated mushroom found in polystyrene trays in the supermarket and the big, beefy wild variety which are found in the fields and forests of Mallorca. At this time of year the island's rural areas are full of basket carrying mushroom hunters all out looking for the flavourful fungi!

This month in Alaro, the council and a group of restaurants have banded together to produce the town's 4th annual mushroom month when the menus feature everything with mushrooms.

The participating restaurants are Sa Fonda, Es Raco, 1901, O Sole Mio, Traffic, Can Punta and Mons Apart, whose details can be found on a PDF File on Alaro council's website.
