80 four-wheeled beauties

March sees a couple of great motoring events – on both two wheels and four – in Mallorca.

On the 11th the World Indoor Trial Championships stop off in Palma Arena when for the whole afternoon (15.00 to 22.30) some of the best riders from all over the world will thrill the audience with their astonishing ability to coax their bikes into and out of some unusual positions. Among them will be 11 times world champ Toni Bou who can be seen paying a visit to the office of his sponsor Repsol in this video.

A little more sedate, Mallorca's 8th classic car rally takes place from 15th to 17th March and features some around 80 four-wheeled beauties from times past. The line up will feature famous names like Alfa Romeo, Triumph, Lancia, Porsche, Ferrari, Austin-Healey, and my favourite, this Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing pictured below.

The cars and drivers will be on the roads all over the island and will cover almost 700 km during the three days. There's a downloadable PDF File which gives the routes and approximate timings if you'd like to catch these magnificent specimens in action.
