Camp de Mar, Mallorca - beloved by celebrities

Beloved by independent travellers for many decades this pretty resort is a great place for those who like to be close enough to Palma for shopping and sightseeing trips but prefer to spend their days and evenings relaxing in exclusive surroundings. As if to confirm it's exclusivity Camp de Mar is very popular with celebs such as Michael Schumacher in the summer months...so who knows who you may see strolling by when lying on the beach!

The Blue Flag beach is an arch of golden sand that shelves gently into clear calm waters, just perfect for swimming. A fun but natural feature is the small island situated in the bay that now hosts a popular bar-restaurant. Accessed by a wooden bridge it's the perfect place to enjoy lunch or a refreshing drink. Known locally as 'Alcatraz' we're sure you won't want to escape from this idyllic spot! But if that doesn’t take your fancy then try one of the fish restaurants that line the back of the beach.

If sunbathing is a little too relaxed for you then how about a game of golf? Beginner or experienced you won’t be disappointed with the location of Camp de Mar as a number of top class courses are within easy driving distance.

Shopping in the resort is mainly limited to souvenirs, beachwear and of course groceries for those self-catering. However as access to Palma is easy (bus or taxi) those who want a little retail therapy will be in heaven!

Evenings tends to be relaxed in this sophisticated resort and built mainly around eating out. The beach restaurants are a romantic place to be on a warm summer evening where you can dine whilst watching the lights twinkle on the sea. There are a small number of welcoming bars in Camp de Mar but live entertainment is mainly hotel based so for a livelier evening holidaymakers often catch a taxi to the nearby resort of Santa Ponsa.
