Can Pastilla, Mallorca - one of the first resorts

This was one of the very first resorts on Majorca to welcome British holidaymakers and it is still as popular with them today, though it’s also is getting a more cosmopolitan air about it. The closest resort to Palma City it is situated at the start of the fabulous 6 km long beach which runs through the resort of Playa de Palma to Arenal. At the other end is an attractive little harbour chock-o-block with boats.

Originally an old fishing village, C’an Pastilla is warren of narrow streets that are great to explore. There’s one main street where you’ll find most of the bars, restaurants and shops. The promenade that runs the length of the resort, and onwards to Playa de Palma and Arenal, is a great place for evening strolls or sit at one of the cafe-bars and people watch! A tourist train also makes it easy to explore along the coast. In the other direction are the bright lights of the city – easily reached by bus.

The beach is superb, perfect for families and plenty of water sports are on offer for the more energetic. Beach bars abound along this stretch of coastline – so you’re never far from one or if you prefer a languid lunch try one of the beach front restaurants and enjoy the super view whilst you dine. In the early evening a favourite activity is sunset watching...as you’re in the perfect spot to see some spectacular ones so grab your camera.

If you get bored of all that sun, sea and sand nearby attractions include one of the largest water parks on the island; Aqualand el Arenal – great for the kids, whilst the Palma Aquarium on the far side of the resort is very popular with all ages.
