The Restaurante Lua, perched just above the picturesque marina of Puerto de Soller
The Restaurante Lua, perched just above the picturesque marina of Puerto de Soller really does have views to dine for. Lights twinkling in the hills around the bay, pleasure craft bobbing on the water and the rickety old trams coming and going below are a perfect panoply for candle-lit dining under the Moon (Lua means Moon in Portuguese) on the roof terrace.
Two inside dining areas and a terrace at ground level – just great for people watching – give plenty of choice for enjoying the artistically presented dishes at the Lua whose mantra is fresh food prepared to order.
The young team here, have a modern, dynamic outlook, proud of the quality of their food, presentation and attention to detail in what is mainly Mediterranean cuisine.
Specialities include the freshest of fish, meat and seafood accompanied by vegetables of the season, many locally sourced. How about Fillet of Sea Bream, vegetable cous-cous and a reduction of oranges from Soller and Pedro Ximenez sherry to whet the appetite?
Akin with other restaurants some dishes need to be ordered a day in advance to ensure the ingredients are available and prepared properly, but well worth the effort for lobster stew, seafood casserole or fideua, a seafood paella in which small noodles are cooked instead of rice – it's delicious.
And there's no need to miss out on this lovely restaurant's great atmosphere and setting if you have special dietary needs – all the dishes can be adapted to suit vegetarian and gluten or dairy free diets.
The Restaurante Lua is situated right by the tram terminus, so easily accessible and there's plenty of parking along the port if you arrive by car.
