Palma's new outdoor concert venue was inaugurated by Fito and the Fitipaldis the other evening. Known as Son Fusteret, the venue is unique because the auditorium can be dismantled in less than a week when not required, for example when the enormous amusement park fair – La Feria del Ram – takes place there in March and April.
The new auditorium has been financed by the Spanish Government's plan E public investment fund at a cost of around three quarters of a million Euros and will use around 10,000 square metres of land.
With a capacity for 9000 people, it'll hold concerts, sporting events and fairs and has adequate parking for 1000 cars in it's grounds and another 915 spaces at the nearby metro station. There are also good public transport links with the Son Fuster Vell and Son Castello metro stations nearby.
