Every year Palma city council holds a competition for the best poster to advertise the annual Mardi Gras Carnival to celebrate the start of Lent.
There are two versions of the Carnival parade, La Rueta, for kids, and La Rua, for adults. The Rua poster competition was won by Angel Ligero and the Rueta comp was won by Aspace, the association
for cerebral paralysis.
The judging of the posters had to be done extremely carefully to avoid the controversy surrounding the San Sebastian poster in January – the winning entry
was found to be a copy of a poster used for Valencia's Fallas a couple of years earlier.
In case you're wondering, the Parades take place around the centre of Palma on 6th March, kids in the morning and the adults' starts at 17.00
