If you've ever been to the Ses Voltes open air concert space directly below Palma's magnificent Cathedral you can't fail to have been impressed by the colourful
canopy which gives shade to the area.
It was designed in 1991 by the Ibicenco architect Elias Torres in a blue and yellow harlequin pattern to invoke the medieval times of strolling
mummers, acrobats and all round hey nonny nonnying!
Unfortunately it's a bit flimsy and a labour of love to keep it in good condition. Every time there's a storm the council has to order new bits of material to fill the gaps which have appeared.
It's just been completely repaired again and is looking pristine, so hopefully the weather won't cause any more problems until after summer!
