Top class food from one of Mallorca's best chefs and informal dining at reasonable prices
Top class food from one of Mallorca's best chefs and informal dining at reasonable prices are the main reasons that the Tasca Blanquerna is one of Palma's most highly rated eateries.
Marc Fosh has played a blinder by bringing food preparation out of the kitchen and into the dining area so clients can see just what goes into each culinary creation.
Out goes the formality of starters, mains and desserts as the menu is focussed on smaller items, ideal for grazing the evening away, and the layout of the place – bar and 'hob-side' seating – with
the chefs for company gives the place an air of a dinner party at a friend's house.
Specialising in the best of Spanish regional cuisine with a modern touch, the organic ingredients are locally grown, many in Marc Fosh's own vegetable garden.
Tapas, salads, cured ham, seafood, cheeses, pulses, soups, fish and red meat make a visit to Tasca Blanquerna a foodie tour of Spain on a menu which includes award winning tapa Escalivada con
Llampuga Ahumada – Catalan style roasted vegetables marinated in sherry vinegar and olive oil with smoked local mahi mahi.
My own personal favourite is Almejas Marinera, clams – the tastiest of seafoods – cooked in a white wine, parsley and garlic sauce. The aromas from the pan are to die for – shame my phone camera
only captures visual images!
Wines are by the bottle or the glass and the staff really do know what they're talking about so don't be scared of mixing and matching on their expert recommendation.
