Bars and Restaurants in Palma will be calling 'Time Gentlemen, Please'
Bars and Restaurants in Palma will be calling 'Time Gentlemen, Please' on their OUTSIDE terrace areas at different times after Palma Council passed new laws this week.
From now on all terraces must be closed and customers moved inside or go home at midnight on weekdays and 00.30 at weekends. This timetable hasn't changed, but there are exceptions to it; bars on
the seafront and in one area of Playa de Palma will be allowed to open their terraces until 01.00, and in the Sa Gerreria area, famed for its Ruta
Martiana tapas run, closing time will be 23.00!
It's a difficult area for Palma council, hundreds of thousands of people live and work in the city, but equally masses of tourists arrive for holidays because of the climate and the fabulous choice
of bars and restaurants where they can eat outside, which for most northern Europeans is a rare treat.
Hopefully the new hours will allow the natives of Palma to get enough sleep, and its visitors enough fun.
