Soller's most famous product, the orange, is the theme for the town's orange festival
Soller's most famous product, the orange, is the theme for the town's orange festival taking place from 2nd to 17th June. The fruit, a favourite of King Louis XIV of France, who would eat no other
oranges than those from Soller, is used to make the famous marmalade of Soller, as well as juice, ice-cream and the Angel D'Or liqueur.
To celebrate, 21
restaurants in the town itself, the port and the pretty village of Fornalutx, are putting on special menus featuring the orange in salads, sauces, desserts, and of course, liqueurs. Costing €20 to
€25 depending on the restaurant, they're an economically priced way to sample not only the fare in the restaurants, but how versatile the fruit is!
Even better, the restaurants have combined with the equally famous Soller train and tram to provide joint tickets for a ride on both and a meal for only €35! How fantastic is that?
