Queen Elizabeth, the newest member of prestigious cruise line Cunard's fleet
Queen Elizabeth, the newest member of prestigious cruise line Cunard's fleet spent a day in Palma yesterday for the first time since she was brought into service in 2010.
The stop is part of a 9 or 21 day cruise around the Med from Southampton carrying around 2000 passengers who had a chance to stroll around Palma and its shops (remember, they're open on Sundays
now) or take one of the organised excursions around the island seeing the local markets, historical sites or some entertainment.
As we already know, stopovers by ships like this – passengers onboard the QE are treated to the luxurious lifestyle from the 30's heyday of cruising – are important to the city (and Mallorca in
general) because of the acquisitive power of the ships' passengers.
