There's already a superb bus service from Mallorca Airport to Palma. Frequent and cheap, the service runs every 15 minutes from 06.00 until 02.00 and runs from the airport to the Dic de l'Oest on
the far side of Palma's cruise ship port via the main streets of the city.
From today until the middle of September the high season service will be reinforced with Express buses every 30 minutes. These will only go as far as Palma's intermodal transport station at the
Plaza de España where passengers can transfer to buses covering routes all over Mallorca, trains, metro, bikes or the lovely old Soller train.
At €2.50 it's a bargain and one which independent travellers on a budget will appreciate, making the journey to (for example) Soller a snip at around €5! The introduction of the new Express service
comes on the same day that figures were announced showing that passengers arriving on budget airlines in May were 16% higher than last year.
The bus is an ideal way to get into Palma if you're on a short break and therefore not burdened with big heavy cases. I always use it if travelling alone as it makes a considerable saving on a taxi
fare into the city.
