If there's one thing that can spoil a perfect day on a sunny beach it's the thorny problem of what to do with your valuables while you take a dip in the sea. Hiding your wallet under your towel
doesn't exactly sooth your troubled mind whilst you're floating about on a li-lo and leaving your partner on the beach to look after things doesn't exactly help marital harmony.
Thanks to Calvia council, situations like these will soon be a thing of the past as they are planning to install small security boxes on the main beaches of the area – Santa Ponça, Peguera,
Magaluf, Son Maties and es Carregador – where bathers can store important valuable items.
For a mere €3 a day bathers can hire a secure storage box and for a little extra can enjoy high speed WiFi and recharge their phones as well! The boxes will operate using a security code so there's
no need to worry about a bulky key spoiling your well honed profile in your Speedos!
The system, which should be up and running for the high season, is already operational in some of Europe's big cities, but Calvia's will be the first in the whole of Spain.
