Palma be hosting performances from Cirque du Soleil's new tour of the spectacular show Dralion. The very mention of the 'circus' troupe's name conjures up images of gorgeous costumes, incredible
stage sets and of course, mind boggling acrobatics and dances.
All these will come together at Palma Arena from 28th August until 6th September next year (2014) when 11 performances of the show Dralion will take place. The name is a fusion of the words Dragon
– an emblematic symbol of the East – and Lion – the West and so the show is a fusion of the ancient Chinese acrobatic arts and the multidisciplinary approach of Cirque du Soleil, telling the story
of harmony between humans and nature.
As you can imagine, a lot of time and effort has gone into the entire production with around 1500 elaborate costume pieces, a mammoth 60 feet wide stage backdrop strong enough to support artists
suspended from it and reminiscent of a futuristic Chinese temple. Add to this, amazing sound and lighting effects, brilliant choreography and out of this world acrobatics and you have an
unforgettable experience to remember for a long time after the show!
Tickets cost from €35 to €80.50 and can be purchased from the Cirque du Soleil website.
