It's not so often that we get the chance to eat at Restaurants awarded a Michelin Star, and it's even rarer that we get the opportunity to see the chef in action, so grab this opportunity while you
Tomorrow, Friday 6th September, Tomeu Caldentey, the first ever chef from Mallorca to have a star bestowed upon him will be in action from 11.00 in Palma's big market, the Mercat de l’Olivar. He'll
be giving a presentation of show cooking in the market's 'gastro space' featuring typical Mallorcan products which are, of course, on sale on the fantastic variety of stalls there.
Caldentey, head chef at Es Moli den Bou Restaurant for many years, was first awarded the star in 2004 and has maintained it every year
since! Part of the association of Mallorca super chefs, Chefsins, he regularly takes part in events to publicise the excellent cuisine,
products and gastronomy of the island.
Tomorrow's event is a prelude to a gastronomy week celebrated in various restaurants island wide to celebrate Mallorca Day and we'll have more news of this in the following days.............
So, to see what makes a Michelin starred chef a Michelin starred chef, get along to the market tomorrow, it's FREE!
