Palma's reputation as the perfect destination for indepenedent travellers who enjoy the finer things in life
Palma's reputation as the perfect destination for indepenedent travellers who enjoy the finer things in life – art, history, culture, gastronomy, music and high end shopping – wil be further enhanced with the opening of The Calatrava Boutique Hotel on 1st April.
It's yet another addition to Palma's exclusive club of five star hotels which have cool, modern décor and standards of service. Its owner is Miguel Conde Moragues who knows a thing or two about the business having recently inaugurated the wonderful Can Cera hotel nearby.
Luckily for him, he's had a little help from his family in turning a 19th century building – luminous and open to the sea – into a stylish hotel as his mother, Cecilia Conde Moragues, is considered to be one of the best interior designers in Spain, and his wife, Cristina Martí, is an architect.
As you can see from our photographs, The Calatrava Boutique Hotel, has a spacious, modern theme, uncluttered yet with a homely feel which carries through the rooms and suites to the stylish SPA and bistro, and wonderful terrace with views down the coastline to the cruise liner port.
Situated on the edge of the Calatrava district of Palma, directly along the seafront from Palma cathedral, it's ideally placed to enjoy all that the city centre has to offer, and the trendy beach front barrios of Portixol and Molinar!
Miguel says that he had observed a growing demand in Palma for boutique hotels with individual and personal service, where guests could relax like they would at home but with all the comforts of a hotel. With this in mind, the Calatrava will become an ideal place to enjoy a 'different' holiday in Palma.
I'd stay there, would you?
