It's been a great week for Palma's Ummo restaurant situated in the trendy Santa Catalina area of the city. They continued their fantastic prize winning run in the TaPalma tapas and pinchos
competition by winning the first prize for the best food yet again. They have now won 4 golds and 1 silver in the history of the event, a record which no other restaurant has come near achieving!
However, the story doesn't end there, because the TaPalma winners go through to national competition to represent Mallorca and decide who makes the best tapas and pinchos in all Spain. Held in
Valladolid, Ummo's entry of "Ravi-Oli" de espinagada de anguila (photo) concocted by chef Igor Rodriguez came second and was beaten only by a restaurant in Oviedo in Asurias.
Our congratulations go to Igor and Ummo, but not without mentioning that the silver and bronze prizes for TaPalma also went to restaurants based in Santa Catalina; Deliciosa Marta and El 12 (whose
creation we featured in our TaPalma news item) respectively.
If you wish to see why they're so good, you can find them at
Ummo – Sant Magi 66, Santa Catalina, Palma
Deliciosa Marta - Teodor Llorente 4, Santa Catalina, Palma
