Palma's second annual festival of all things beer is on now.
There's a golden glow over Palma Cathedral these days as thousands of happy beer lovers sip the amber nectar under its giant Gothic towers. Yes, Beer Palma is underway in the Parque de la Mar
recreation area with a massive choice of beers from all around the world on sale at super reasonable prices!
No less than 129 beers of all colours, nationalities and tastes have been lined up with lager from Spain, bitter from Britain, white beer from Germany, fruity beer from Belgium, lime flavoured
yellow coloured liquid from Mexico, and a new one on me, alcohol free beer! I might give that last one a miss and get a taxi home.
Just in case anyone experiences a craving for food after 5 or 6 scoops, a fleet of 10 tapas stalls will be on hand to satisfy that hunger, supplying healthy options like sushi through to old
favourites like patatas bravas and one that will surely be the most popular as the day draws on; the Street Dog Food Truck serving a variety of hot dogs for the super hungry.
Organisers have got it all sussed; prices are cheap, from €2 to €4 for beer and €1, €2 and €3 for tapas and the great thing is that no money changes hands at the stalls, only tokens of €1 which can
be bought on entry to the fair. How easy is that?
