Ballet and Flamenco in the same venue in the same week
Fans of classical dance can choose two distinctly different performances in the same week at Palma's Auditorium on the city's Paseo Maritimo. On Wednesday (28th May) the Russians glide into town as
the Moscow Ballet takes to the stage to perform Swan Lake.
Regular visitors to these shores, the Muscovites dance the story of a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer to Tchaikovsky's famous score. The performance starts at 20.30 and tickets
start at €38.
Whilst Ballet has enjoyed a bit of a renaissance after Billy Elliot punched his way into the tightest of tights, real macho men may prefer the tortured posturings of Flamenco dance in its purest
form when Antonio Canales – dancer, choreographer and actor – brings his show to the Auditorium on Saturday 31st May. Called Antonio & Canales, it recounts in dance and music his bitter sweet
life in showbusiness. Accompanied by his own musicians , it all starts at 21.30 and tickets are from €28.
