The Deia Cultural festival continues tonight when the Hotel d'Es Puig hosts an evening of Cuban music starting at 18.30. It's just one of 8 events which comprise the programme – roughly one a month – until next October.
They take place at various places around the town and the programme is as follows;
23.05: Cuba. Hotel d'Es Puig. 18:30 h.
27.06: 1945-1965/Blues: Ca'n Quet. 22:00 h.
11.07: Pasión Flamenca. Anfiteatro de Deià. 22:00 h.
25.07: Guitarra clásica. Hotel d'Es Puig. 22:00 h.
15.08: Boogie Woogie. Anfiteatro de Deià. 22:00 h.
05.09: Trío de Chelo. Hotel La Residencia. 18:30 h.
03.10: Arte Español. Hotel Es Molí. 20:30 h.
and you'll be able to find more details on the organiser's Facebook page nearer the times.
Even if you're not about on the concert dates, Deia is well worth a visit, as it really is one of the prettiest towns in Mallorca. Set high in the Tramuntana mountains and with architecture which sets it apart, it's attracted the rich, the famous and arty intellectuals over the years – Robert Graves and Kevin Ayers are buried in its graveyard, Anais Nin stayed at the Es Puig, Richard Branson owned La Residencia and Michael Winner enjoyed his dinner at Xelini!
In fact, with the number of excellent restaurants and hotels (just click on the links above to book online) in such a small place, it's a great place for a complete holiday to enjoy the fresh air, scenery and lovely cove down by the sea.
