Banyalbufar goes back to black

Eres Negre festival - Listen, taste it, live it!

The picture perfect village of Banyalbufar perched atop high cliffs overlooking the sea in the Sierra Tramuntana region of Mallorca turns black for the third year running this Saturday. It's the
annual Eres Negre (you're black) shindig which combines superb food, wine and the best music in the world all in one joyous occasion!

The all day festival kicks off at noon when the village's bars combine for a tapas route which pays homage to Banyalbufar's two most famous agricultural products; vine tomatoes and Malvasia wine,
both grown on the terraced hillsides by the sea. At a mere €3 for a tapa and wine it's extremely good value and a perfect relaxing start to the day.

When you're in the mood the 'sunset session' begins at 18.00 where organisers have arranged for the sun to drop spectacularly into the sea in a blaze of colour to carefully coordinated DJ driven
music as you watch from the cliff tops.

Then it's back to the main square for the main event when soul and funk bands Freedonia and Palma Groove Project take to the stage from 22.30 until 04.00 for some serious tail feather shaking and
all round gettin' down tonight. It's €10 to watch the concert and you can get tickets in advance on the Eres Negre webpage.

Fancy it? It's this Saturday, 19th July, and as the organisers say. 'Don't miss it, because you're black but you just don't know it!'
