Tripadvisor exceptional service awards to three Mallorca hotels
The gigantic international travel portal Tripadvisor has produced a list of the 25 top hotels in Spain which provide exceptional service to clients based on the opinions of its many users. Interestingly nearly all of the 25 are small establishments and again, nearly all of them are situated in areas away from the 'sun, sea and sand' holiday hotspots.
Here in Mallorca our three chosen hotels fall into both these categories and are all traditional Mallorcan houses which retain their original charm and tranquillity and being small, offer a high standard of care, attention, and service to their paying guests.
Let's have a look at them.
Top of the Mallorca list and in 8th position in all Spain was the Finca Hotel Son Palau in Orient, with views of the Tramuntana Mountains – a World Heritage site. It's a 14th century country estate with an elevated position, lovely grounds and with 12 individually designed rooms with an old fashioned (and I mean that in a good way) feel about them. TA readers thought it an ideal place to 'relax and disconnect.'
In 9th position, the Hotel Salvia is situated near the centre of Soller, the charming market town and 'capital' of the Sierra Tramuntana. With only 7 rooms and large gardens it has a Romantic atmosphere and TA reviewers thought that its superb gastronomy was one of its top attractions.
Finally, and in 24th position, was the Finca es Castell in Caimari, also in the Tramuntana region. It has absolutely stunning mountain views, spectacular yet relaxing and with only 10 rooms it has a quiet sophisticated ambience, ideal for appreciating the tranquillity of the surroundings.
I must admit, they all look really tempting and unlike some of the big 'chain' hotels that are found in the resorts, their style and décor actually says 'you are on holiday on the lovely island of Mallorca.' I'd be quite happy to take a relaxing break in any of them, what about you?
