Just some of the fantastic range of live music in Mallorca now!
Great music, great venues, great times! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the choice of live music here in Mallorca really is wonderful and ranges from Rock to Jazz to the Classics via
lots of the other ones in between! And as often as not, the venues, and there are some really unusual ones, just add to the experience.
So, as an example, I've pulled just a few concerts out of the hat over the next fortnight, that will make a holiday in Mallorca even more memorable.
Tonight Bellver Castle hosts the Chamber Film Orchestra's performance of the Extraordinary Tales of Edgar Allan Poe, whilst Capdepera Castle is the setting for the Piano and 200 Candles of David
Gomez. Meanwhile, The 3 Mezzos will perform opera classics and others at the Auditòrium Sa Màniga in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.
Tomorrow, 6th September, there's live Flamenco at the s'Embat beach bar near Es Trenc, or how about the regular Saturday morning organ recital at San Bartolome church in Alaro? Blues fans can get a
fix at Palma's Blue Jazz Club when Victor Uris takes to the stage.
On Monday the 8th, Graham Parker and Brinsley Schwarz (of The Rumour) make an appearance at La Movida in Porto Pi, Palma whilst in Valldemossa, the Dan Roth Group plays Funky Jazz at Coll Bardolet.
Tuesday is Mallorca Rocks night in Magalluf, and this week it's the turn of The Kooks to entertain their tight trousered fans and the following night the tight trousered ones take to the stage at
Palma's Sans Theatre for some Authentic Flamenco!
More good vibes follow when German Vibraphonist Gunter Greffenius Plays the Blue Jazz Club on Thursday and the following evening, Friday 12th, there's a Gospel concert featuring 80 musicians and
singers in the beautiful surroundings of Lloseta's Palau D'Aiamans and its gardens.
On Saturday (13th) there are two contrasting shows in Palma, a preview of the coming season with theatre, music and dance in the big Teatro Principal, whilst in es Gremi there's a big rock
tribute night to Iron Maiden, Metallica and Deep Purple.
And there's lots more, but for the sake of brevity I'm cutting to the biggest name of all, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa who sings at the Formentor Hotel's Sunset Classics concert in Puerto Pollensa on the
19th at 19.30!
