Opera under the stars

A magical open air concert by the light of the full moon

A wonderful setting, twinkling stars, the full moon reflecting on the calm sea and superb music all add up to a magical, memorable evening – and it's all free.

Over on the south east coast of Mallorca, Santanyi is celebrating the Fiesta of the Virgen del Carmen at the charming little bay of Cala Figuera – think cute fishermen's cottages and boat houses –
with a free classical concert starring mezzosoprano María José Montiel along with members of the Balearic Islands' Symphony Orchestra.

The actual venue is the even smaller, even cuter mini cove of Caló d’en Busques (a 'torrent' connected to the main bay) which will be illuminated by the light of the full moon as the little boats
bob on the water and a programme of arias from some of the world's most well known operas is performed.

How fantastic does that sound? It takes place on Friday 11th July at 22.00 and finishes when the fat lady sings.
