New Airport Security Information

Since airport security controls were really tightened up as a response to possible terrorist actions

Since airport security controls were really tightened up as a response to possible terrorist actions several years ago, we've all become familiar with the long queues to pass through the security
scanners which are sometimes longer than those to check in.

How disheartening is it when you get to the top of the escalators in Palma airport – all excited about going home after your annual holiday – when you see a massive queue snaking its way for
hundreds of metres round those interminable barriers?

Someone's Lucky Day

Well, since the middle of last month ten new electronic information boards have been introduced which give passengers estimated waiting times in the queue to divest themselves of any metallic
objects and bottles of water that they've forgotten about.

Situated throughout the airport, its accesses from the bus stops and parking areas, they're well placed to let passengers know how much of a rush they should be in!

No, it doesn't make the lines any shorter, but at least we're prepared for the shock of an enormous queue when we get there!
