Tip top tap dancing with a gritty, modern theme from the Camut Band
As many traditional styles of dancing incorporate 'street' elements into their moves and themes, their popularity just seems to grow and grow. It's happened in tap where outfits like the Tap Dogs
and shows like Strictly Tap Dance Fever attract rave reviews and enthusiastic audiences wherever they are.
Well next month in Mallorca we've a chance to enjoy the Camut Band, a fabulous modern tap outfit from Barcelona who've performed all over the world, when they play three dates on the island.
They're described as fresh and innovative as much of the soundtrack of their shows is provided by their shoes – keep an eye open for the microphones strapped to their tappers.
They'll be performing two different shows during the mini tour; La Vida es Ritmo in Calvia on the 21st November and Arta on the 23rd. Sandwiched between, on the 22nd, they perform Sonoritats in
Alcudia. All the details of when and where together with links to the theatres are on the Camut Band Website.
I certainly like the enigmatically dark look of this clip from La Vida.
What do you think, would you go to see them?
