Palma's big tapas fest returns this October
Mallorca's biggest tapas event is set to return this October. TaPalma – tapas in Palma – now has its dates fixed for the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th October, which is good enough in itself, but even better when you learn that the 12th is a national holiday, so no work and a long lie in for us all!
So, if you fancy a looooong weekend in Palma and you like your food gregarious, that's the time to go. This year's TaPalma is the 11th which is a good measure of its success and popularity, and it's become a benchmark for the city's chefs in their endeavours to display their own creativity, skill and originality.
If you don't already know, TaPalma usually involves 50 or 60 bars and restaurants who create special tapas and pinchos, Spain's famous small dishes, perfect for trying out new tastes and flavours, at very ecconomical prices – around €2 per tapa and €1 for a beer, wine or soft drink.
The bars are all arranged into different routes covering the areas of Palma, so it's possible to do a different route each evening, and maps and information will be available online nearer the time and in paper version during the event.
It's a win, win, win situation for everybody because the bars draw in lots of new customers eager to sample their food, the city is full of locals and tourists alike, and we, the public, get the chance to eat some top food at low, low prices.
