September date for golden-voiced 80's crooner
Rick Astley will be performing in Palma for just one night as part of his European tour in September. The 'Never Gonna Give You Up' star will be at Palma's Trui Theatre on September 26th for the last Spanish date of his tour which will have taken in Oviedo, Madrid, Málaga, Benidorm, and Barcelona on previous nights.
Rick found fame in 1987 when he was catapulted to stardom from the hit factory of Stock Aitken and Waterman as a 21 year old. An ordinary northern lad from Newton-le-Willows, Rick had been working in his dad's shed shop before finding a job as Pete Waterman's tea boy in Manchester. The rumour is that Pete spat his tea all over his mixing decks when he heard Rick sing, though nobody knows if this was because Rick's honeyed tones were so good, or his tea was so bad!
The rest is history, as Rick stormed to the top of the charts with hit after hit, an immaculate quiff and a double breasted blazer. His rich baritone voice features strong on 'Whenever you Need Somebody,' 'She Wants to dance with Me,' and 'Together Forever,' to name just a few, and for sure Rick will be belting these out in Palma during his show.
If you fancy seeing this 80's legend live, tickets cost €28 and €35 and can be booked on the Trui Theatre's site with a few clicks and a credit card.
