Super yachts and super food at the boat show
It's the 32nd annual Palma boat show this month and already the 'sold out' signs are up. Demand to take part in the prestigious event at one of the Med's best harbours far outstrips supply and the pier area will be full to the gunnels with businesses associated with seafaring activities.
Obviously pride of place at the event from 30th April until 4th May will be the gleaming yachts and cruisers bobbing at anchor along the dockside and new facilities at the Moll Vell venue, where we can all gaze with wonder at the nautical real estate on show whilst pondering on our next lottery ticket numbers.
However, this year there's another good reason for visiting the boat show – Marc Fosh. The British chef with the Michelin star and head honcho at Simply Fosh will be in charge of the catering, ensuring that ship's biscuit with a side order of weevils will be firmly OFF the menu!
Foshy will be taking over the event's Blue Cafe to offer a grateful public a whole range of tasty food throughout the day; breakfast, a three course lunch menu for €28 (from 13:00 to 16:00) and in the afternoon and early evening, snacks, canapés and drinks.
It's a win win situation for both the organisers and Marc Fosh as super sleek yachts and Michelin star food both have similar cachet for a discerning clientele. So, if you fancy a spin round the harbour followed by a spot of lunch, the boat show is open from 11:00 to 20:00 every day and until 23:00 on 1st May. It costs €5 to get in with pensioners and up to 12's free!
All hands on deck!
