Clothes fit for a queen
Tucked away in a narrow street just off Palma's golden mile you'll find Cortana, one of the city's best boutiques for unique modern clothes for modern women. It's the brainchild of Mallorcan designer Rosa Esteva, born here in 1975 and trained in Barcelona, who now has shops in both Barcelona and Madrid.
Her clothes draw inspiration from her interest in art, architecture, contemporary dance and a passion for nature from Mallorca itself. Using luxury fabrics using her own watercolour prints, her clothes are all made by skilled ateliers in Barcelona.
The result of this attention to detail is flattering, carefree forms giving a relaxed feminine silhouette for both day and evening which has won Esteva a multitude of followers throughout the fashion industry.
Last week Spain's Queen Letizia appeared at the El Pais gala and awards ceremony clad in an elegant Cortana creation which thanks to the power of the paparazzi has now appeared in newspapers and magazines from Hola to Paris Match all over the world.
It's unmatched publicity for Cortana which will surely have fashionable ladies with cash to spare lining up at opening time in Palma. Queen Letizia's dress (Photos from Cortana Facebook) cost a mere €940, so not cheap, but if you want the best.................
Cortana can be found at Carrer Can Asprer 1, in Palma, just off Avenida Jaime III (by the side of Mango Touch) and is open Monday to Friday 11am to 8pm and Saturdays 11am to 2pm.
