Disco diva Gloria Gaynor and the Electric Light Orchestra
Summer's here, the nights are getting hotter and it's the perfect time to enjoy some outdoor concerts on the big stage. And what better stage than the ultra swish designer (it's Phillipe Starck you know) surroundings of the Port Adriano yacht port and upscale lifestyle HQ!
With gleaming cruisers, super modern architecture housing bars, restaurants and shops, the glittering nightscape is the perfect atmospheric backdrop for wining, dining, and listening to some top artists of the music world.
The port's management have organised a series of summer concerts again this year and I've picked out two which will be ideally suited to an international audience – Gloria Gaynor and The Electric Light orchestra.
Ms Gaynor truly personifies the glittering Disco era of the 70's and will surely have everyone up on the floor shaking a tail feather to her hits Never Can Say Goodbye, I am what I am, and the other one – the one where she was afraid, in fact petrified, and she told her ex to go, walk out the door. Sorry, I can't think of the title, it will come to me if I don't try to think of it.
Anyway, Gloria's on at Port Adriano on 23rd July and tickets will set you back from a standing room only €38 up to a VIP €150. A couple of weeks later on 6th August you can see a band of legends from the 70's synth rock scene, The Orchestra, who are all former members of The Electric Light Orchestra.
Originally formed by Jeff Lynne to carry on the musical genre of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper album, the group scored massive hits worldwide with 10538 Overture, All Over the World, Don't Bring me Down and Mr. Blue Sky, to name just a few. Tickets are the same price as Gloria Gaynor and can be purchased online on the official ticket website which also contains details of the other summer concerts.
See you there? Oh, got it – I will Survive!
