The Fab Four play Palma
With the popularity of the Beatles given a boost with the release of Ron Howard's film 'Eight Days a Week' documenting the rise and rise of the four lovable mop tops from Liverpool, it seems apt that we in Palma will be able to catch two shows from 'the boys.'
Palma Auditorium has two shows planned by two very different Beatles tribute bands who both wear the exact same clothing and play the same kind of instruments as the world's most famous group ever.
On 22nd October, you can catch Abbey Road in their concert 'The Beatles Show 1962 -1970.' It's a two hour show transporting us back to the 60's when not only do the lads play the Beatles' hits - A Hard Day’s Night, All My Loving, Lady Madonna, Penny Lane, Love Me Do, She Loves You etc etc – but they also change costume to match the clothes worn by John, Paul, George and Ringo contemporaneous to the songs! You'll also see the same instruments that were used at the time; Ludwig drums, Vox amps, Rickenbacker, Gretsch, Fender Stratocaster, and Gibson Casino guitars, plus Hofner and Rickenbacker bass.
The second concert, on December 16th features The Mersey Beatles (photo) who really are 'four lads from Liverpool,' and have been touted as the most authentic tribute band ever by John Lennon's sister Julia. With their amazing appearance and costumes you really will think you are in a steaming hot cavern club or a psychedelic happening with Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club band.
