Pop up beer fest arrives in Palma
Everything that's good about Germany arrives in Palma this weekend in the orgy of beer, sausages and oompah bands that is commonly known as the Oktoberfest! Now with so much beer and rich food about, there was a bit of a hiccup in the organisation somewhere along the line, so the planned start date for the festivities was missed.
However all the paperwork (everything that is good about Spain) is now in order so the drinking can commence! Well, what do we all need to know? The Palma Oktoberfest is a mini replica of the giant Munich beer festivals traditionally held in October with enormous steins of golden frothy nectar, busty mädels in dirndls, lederhosen, tubas, pretzels, and a veritable sausage fest of wurst for everyone!
It's a pop up beer fest because it takes place in a specially erected marquee, complete with long tables and benches specially designed for beer drinking songs, in the Son Fusteret show ground just outside Palma city centre which has loads of parking and bus and metro stops nearby.
It opens this Thursday 27th October and the timings are;
Thursday, 19:30 – 00:00
Friday, 19:30 - 01:00
Saturday, 12:30 - 01:00
Sunday, 12:30 – 00:00
Monday, 19:30 – 00:00
with a half price happy hour the first hour of the day and because Monday is Halloween, a special scary theme!
